Biological/Functional activity & target protein
α-Amylase inhibitory activity Inhibitor of alpha-amylase (EC 3.2.1.1). The peptide KLPGF had α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with an IC50 of 59.5±5.7 umol/l and α-amylase inhibitory activity with an IC50 of 120.0 ± 4.0 umol/l, the results revealed that the peptide KLPGF was a potential anti-diabetic inhibitor. The α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of KLPGF was comparable to that of the therapeutic AGI drug acarbose (IC50 = 60.8 umol/l).
