Biological/Functional activity & target protein
Antihypertensive activity

The final rapeseed protein hydrolysate (FRPH) produced the maximum systolic blood pressure reduction of -51 mmHg after six hours oral administration (100 mg/kg body weight) to spontaneously hypertensive rats. The peptide PNECQL was isolated from the FRPH using electrodialysis with ultrafiltration membrane (EDUF) technology, so it was a potential antihypertensive peptide (data not shown).
