The SBP of SHR was reduced significantly in comparison with control rats after approximately 28 and 38 mm Hg was administered in doses of 500 and 2000 mg/kg of body weight, respectively, within 4 h post-oral administration of the hydrolysate. Both levels significantly lowered blood pressures for up to 8 h after administration. After 24 h, the blood pressure of SHR returned to initial levels. The ACE-inhibitory peptide LW was isolated from the hydrolysate fraction, so the peptide can be a potential antihypertensive peptide.
