Biological/Functional activity & target protein
Antihypertensive activity

The soy protein hydrolysates containing ACE inhibitor (peptide YVVFK) showed a clear dose-dependent antihypertensive action in spontaneously hypertensive model rats (SHRs), and systolic blood pressure was significantly reduced after the oral administration of doses exceeding 100 mg/kg (data not shown), so the peptide was a potential antihypertensive peptide.
