Antiviral activity

Chemically synthesized Leu-Leu-Glu-Tyr-Ser-Leu showed IC50 value of 15 nM, and behaved as competitive inhibitor for HIV-1 protease (EC 3.4.23.16) with Ki value of 10 nM. The peptide was more potent as an HIV-1 protease inhibitor than pepstatin A.
