The peptide was activite against Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV-1); Neither peptide ADRDQYELL (222-230) nor peptide EDLIWK (264-269), obtained by chemical synthesis, displayed inhibitory effect when separately tested. The antiviral activity towards HSV-1 was observed when peptide ADRDQYELL was tested in a 1:1 stoichiometric association with peptide EDLIWK, suggesting that the presence of both peptides was required to prevent HSV-1 infection.
