Biological/Functional activity & target protein
Ileum contracting activity

At 0.5 μM, oryzatensin caused an ileumcontraction, judging from the slight elevation of baseline. At 5 μM, oryzatensin showed a marked biphasic contraction which was characterized by a rapid contraction followed by a slower one. The latter was mediated by the cholinergic nervous system because it was inhibited by tetrodotoxin (1μM) and atropine.
